14 must have WordPress plugins for bloggers

Have you setup your blog and installed WordPress? Yes? Great, below I have listed some of the best must have WordPress plugins for bloggers that you must install and use on your new blog.

  • Yoast SEO (formerly called WordPress SEO by Yoast)

This is one of the best WordPress plugins that automatically creates meta tile, description and others for a better search engine ranking. It also generates a xml Sitemap as well as analyzes your content for SEO.

It also has a feature called ‘robots meta configuration’ that lets you hide certain pages from search engine bots and avoid getting indexed.

I use this awesome plugin for this blog for on-page SEO purposes.

  • All in one SEO Pack

All in one SEO Pack is a great WordPress SEO plugin, an alternative to Yoast SEO that you can use to optimize your site automatically. Some of the things that this handy WordPress plugin lets you do is, automatically generate meta data, create and submit xml Sitemaps to Google and other search engines as well as reshuffle and organize page navigation links for better search engine indexing and ranking.

  • w3 total cache

W3 total cache is one of the top web performance optimization plugins. It improves page load speed, decreases download time, saves bandwidth and much more.

Contact form 7

This is a plugin that lets you take messages from people visiting your site. It is a simple and easy to use plugin for creating contact forms.

You can use it to create different types of contact forms, be it for a contact us page or other uses, and the number of contact forms you can create is unlimited.

To create a form, simply click on the ‘Contact’ button in WordPress, then create and customize a form. Then paste the short code to whatever page or area on your site that you would like the form to appear on, whether it be your sidebar, a contact page or other.

You can also customize the form as well as integrate it with a plugin named ‘really simple CAPTCHA’ to add a captcha module on your website and stop spammers from sending you robotic messages.

  • Google analyticator

If you have a hard time manually pasting the Google Analytics code into your site, then you can use this plugin to do that for you automatically.

It makes pasting the code easy for you to do, and shows you real-time statistics inside WordPress, …analytics at its best.

  • WP Touch mobile plugin

This is a great plugin for new sites because mobile use is increasing and you should make your site easy for people to access it on their mobile phones or devices.

  • Digg Digg

Digg Digg is another cool social media sharing plugin for every new blog that lets you place share buttons on your blog either on posts or as a floating bar.

All popular social media sites have buttons, you can choose which buttons to show and which not to show. As well as edit the sequential order in which the buttons appear. It doesn’t flag your download time or create memory hog, so your site won’t be slow.

  • Akismet

Akismet is a must have WordPress plugins for bloggers. It is a spam killing plugin you should use on your new blog to avoid spam.

WordPress comes with Akismet pre-installed so when you first log into WordPress, you will see it in the plugins list under “Plugins”.

Though there’s no telling which of your Akismet flagged comments are actually spam, unless you manually check the spam folder manually now and then.

Even if your blog is brand new and you don’t really need a spam killer, there surely will come a time when you are going to need it, so it doesn’t hurt to put the system in order.
