There are a lot of ways to earn money blogging. However, affiliate marketing and Adsense are two of the most common and easiest ways. They are cut out for beginners and are indisputably easier to get started with. I will explain why in the following paragraphs.
2 cool ways to earn money blogging
What is affiliate marketing?
Affiliate marketing is a technique of making money on the internet in which you place links to a product in your articles or blog posts. Then when people visit your website, and like what you have to say, they’ll click on an affiliate link, and maybe end up buying the product. That’s when you get paid.
An affiliate link is a unique link or URL that you will be given when you sign up as an affiliate for a product online. Your affiliate link is how the vendor knows how many sales have been made due to your efforts.
Affiliate programs are all over the place, and how much an affiliate program or vendor wants to pay commissions to their affiliates is totally up to the vendor. Mostly digital products like ebooks or membership programs pay higher commissions. There are also ones that pay 100% commissions on digital affiliate networks like RapBank. Physical products yield smaller commissions but many of them come with higher price tags, and the payout makes up for the low commission.
Why is affiliate marketing an easy way to make money blogging?
It is because you can get started with it and be on your way to earning money in no time.
You don’t have to create a product, setup payment, and then wait days until your product is approved by an affiliate network.
All you have to do is sign up with an affiliate program or network like Clickbank, and create your affiliate link to any product of your choice. Then copy and paste the link to your site. You just have to make sure that you are promoting a high quality product, and make sure you get a lot of traffic, as that is key to affiliate marketing.
How affiliate marketing works?
First sign up to an affiliate program or network like Clickbank and Rapbank, or Amazon if you are into promoting physical products.
You will then post your affiliate links on your blog (if you don’t already have one, click here to learn how to create an operative WordPress blog). You can also use email marketing, reviews, contextual linking, and so on to promote your affiliate products.
Affiliate marketing tips
Set yourself a vision and setup a goal. That is the first thing to do, because without a vision and a goal to guide you through the route, you won’t get anywhere. First ask yourself how much money you want to earn.
When it comes to successfully making money from affiliate marketing, a vital thing is to pick high quality products that pay well, and are of use to your readers. You also have to use tracking software so you can pin down techniques that will work best for you. And since everything is not equal, try out different kinds of methods and techniques.
On top of that, try your best to get as many visitors as you can. There are so many ways you can get traffic. You can try internet advertising, social media marketing, SEO, search engine marketing, blog commenting and so on.
What is Adsense?
Adsense is one of the most simplest ways to earn money blogging. All you need to do is setup a blog, and put a piece of code on your site.
How does Adsense works?
Adsense is a program that is provided by Google. The only thing that you have to do is to create an Adsense account. Then Google gives you a piece of code which you need to copy and paste into your website when you sign up. And ads will start showing automatically. Then when people click on any one of the ads on your site, you get paid a certain amount of money per click.
Just like in affiliate marketing, getting visitors is also a vital thing in Adsense. On top of blog commenting, article marketing, SEO and so on, you can use email marketing to get people to visit your website and sign up to your email list. Then send them tips, along with links to articles on your website. That will increase the number of visitors to your site and help you keep more.
When it comes to placement of the code, or where on your site the ad blocks will appear, put content above the fold and do not to put a lot of ad blocks above the fold. It’s also a wise move to keep the article/content to ad ratio balanced.
There is also another thing that you have to take into account. Although Google allows just 6 ads to be placed per page on your blog, don’t go overboard. Instead, try to be user-friendly by placing ads at the right spot where it is really required. You can also try placing ads in places where more eyeballs are likely to go to, like the top right hand side, to get more views. You’ll increase CTR (click-through rates), and increase the number of people who will click on your ads.
